STEREOLITOGRAPHY 3D PRINTER DESIGN

After I’ve built several FDM 3D printers in the last 3-4 years, I also wanted to try a Stereolithography 3D printer, since the resolution of these types of printers is much higher than that of the usual ones. When I checked the different possibilities, I found a new way of doing this, with using an LCD screen. So after some research I started to design my own SLA printer model. This printer uses a new type of Igus linear motion and an iPad Air retina display which has a 2560*1536 resolution in relative height (200*160mm, 0.025mm). It uses a special resin material that becomes solid at 460nm (this nm is the blue crystal colour in the LCD screen). I’m planning to finish the design of the printer by the end of the year, and make it downloadable from Thingiverse.
